The group Help the Strays St. Anthony and Area would like to raise awareness for having cats and dogs fixed. This is the best kind of rescue.
Remember the sentence: “How can you rescue 100 cats? Have one fixed!”
You have the chance to get the spaying or neutering of your cat or dog to be paid for at a vet of your choice if you enter your name into our draw. Just contact Leona Mitchelmore-Adams on Facebook or by phone (454 21 92).
You need to give your full name, where you live, your pet`s name (you have to be the legal owner!, )whether it is a cat or a dog, and its approximate age. You don`t have to pay anything but you have to answer 3 questions (see below). Even if the answer is wrong, you can win.
A minister in our area will draw the winner on January 24. We will publish the winner`s name, so you have to be okay with that. The winning pet will have to be fixed within 3 months of the draw. Only fixing will be paid for (and directly to the vet), no additional treatments. The costs are sponsored by a passionate pet lover.
The founding members of our group and their immediate families are excluded from the draw (their pets are fixed anyway), and there is no right of appeal.
These are the three questions, choose the correct answer:
First question: Can a cat that is still nursing her kittens get pregnant?
1a) Yes
2a) No.
Second question: Does fixing make a dog fat and lazy?
2a) Yes
2b) No. Too much food and not enough exercise make a dog fat and lazy.
Third question: Does spaying/neutering shorten a pet`s lifespan?
3a) No, on the contrary. Fixing can prevent serious diseases of some organs.
3b) Yes.
Good luck for this draw –and our best wishes for 2015!
