Trina Loder, originally from St. Anthony, now living in Whitecoat, Alberta
Trina writes: “This is my Nan Blanche Hedderson from Hay Cove and I estimate it was taken roughly around 1983 and I would have been about 11 years old. The dog with her is Candy and they dearly loved each other! When Nan would get ready to go out to the garden, Candy would literally dance in circles cause she was so excited! Candy went away one day and it was thought that either she was sick and went somewhere to die or another animal killed her. But remembering Candy brings back some wonderful memories of my Nan and her!”

Fluffy was the best cat you could ever ask for, she loved to cuddle and loved to be brushed. Mornings were funny, as she would wake us up by standing on your chest and paw at your mouth as if to say “wake up! im hungry” she knew which cabinet her food was in and figured out how to open the door to get at her fav treats. Fluffy lived to be 10, we still miss her.”

Linda Wilkoff, St. Lunaire-Griquet
Linda writes: “I had other dogs before this pup. But, this was our Snowball. My dad brought him home from a farmer one cold, snowy night.
He looked like a little SNOWBALL, thus his name.
He lived to be 17 years old. He was blind in the end but as long as the furniture was not moved, he knew his path in his world.
I was a young adult when he died. Finding this picture brought back some great memories.
Thanks for the memories.”
“My very, very first dog. Guess dogs have really been a part of my life from the start.

Inbox Bernadette Calonego on Facebook or send it by email to mail@northernpeninsulapets.org. We will then post it on our website www.northernpeninsulapets.org. And tell us something about your pet, its name, how old you were and where the picture was taken.
