Earnest Pilgrim has had Shadow, a black lab mix, for five years. Shadow is approximately 10 years old, he is a neutered male.

– What does your pet like?
He likes his walks and rides in the truck or car. He spends a lot of time with me in the truck.
– What does your pet not like?
Loud noises, like fireworks.
– Favourite toy?
My boots! He has always something in his mouth, like socks. He`s got a lot of toys, but he likes a furry fox toy.
– Favourite food?
Kibbles and bits. He also likes chicken and he likes his treats.
– What have you learned since you have had your pet?
A pet is a big responsibility. You have to be prepared to spend a lot of time with your pet. But pets give you so much back. They are good companions.
– Do you have any advice for other pet owners?
Accept pets as part of your family. And you have to remember that pets grow up, too. Some people get a puppy for their kids. Sometimes kids might not be prepared for the responsibility, so the parents have to do it. The parents have to teach their children what to do.
