Neyda Galvez, St.Lunaire-Griquet
Neyda has had Luna, a female Golden Retriever (6 years old) “since she was born”, she says. “I saw her before her eyes opened.” Neyda put a pink necklace on her so that nobody else would take her.
“The Six Golden Questions”:
– What does your pet like?
Luna loves people, she loves to be the centre of attention and she is very affectionate.
– What does your pet not like?
She does not like sharing affection.
– Favourite toy?
Her favourite toy are my slippers. She is a shoe thief. She picks up shoes and socks and moves them around the house. She will bring visitors a shoe as a gift.
– Favourite food?
We give her holistic dog food that does not contain rice or wheat or corn. Some dogs develop allergies to these ingredients.
– What have you learned since you have had your pet?
I have learned how much a dog can love a human. Luna loves me unconditionally. She knows when I am sad or angry, and she comes to console me.
– Do you have any advice for other pet owners?
A dog is not a toy or a yard ornament. If you`re going to get a dog, it should be a member of the family, like a child. It is a lifelong commitment. If you don`t feel that dog is going to be a true member of the family, don`t get a dog. It is a time commitment, but also an emotional and financial commitment.
But any investment you make in a dog, you get back tenfold.
People have to think hard about the breed. Do some research. The breed has to fit your lifestyle.
