Pet Owner of the Week

Curtis Blake from Straitsview

Curtis got Tilly, a female dog that is part lab, six years ago from the SPCA in Grandfalls-Windsor. Tilly was an abused dog but Curtis and Faye Blake made Tilly trust her new owners. Great job, Faye and Curtis!

“The Six Golden Questions”:

– What does your pet like?

She loves going for walks and riding in the car. She really loves car rides!

What does your pet not like?
She does not like cats, she chases them. I think Tilly wants to play with them and the cats run away.

Favourite toy?
Stuffed animals that squeak.

Favourite food?
Pedigree dry food. And she loves her treats.

– What have you learned since you have had your pet?
Tilly was abused by her former owners. First, she was afraid of everything and everybody. She still does not like loud noise. If somebody shoots a gun, she runs away and hides in the closet. She is also afraid of thunder, it frightens her to death.

– Do you have any advice for other pet owners?

Never abuse a dog. In the winter, a dog should be taken inside the house, it should not be left outside in the cold. A dog should not be left outdoors in the winter.
