Deana`s cat Bones is 13 years old, the same age as Deana. The cat is called Bones because she was so skinny when Deana got her. Bones was a stray cat.
“We had seen her next to the Lion`s Club building in St. Anthony”, Deana says. “She was roaming around. My dad picked her up. Bones was very hungry. We went to the store and bought some cat food, and Bones ate the whole bag in the car on the way home. Bones had run away because she was abused.”
“The Six Golden Questions”:
– What does your pet like?
She likes taking over people`s beds. She sleeps on top of the pillow, over my head. She also loves sleeping and hunting.
– What does your pet not like?
She does not like water, and when it is raining, she`ll come right back home.
She does not like loud noises. When I am vacuuming, she gets really scared and goes away.
– Favourite toy?
Any small item with feathers. She has a mouse that squeaks and it has feathers. Bones licks the feathers off.
– Favourite food?
Whiskas dry food and Temptations treats. It is the only food that she`ll eat.
– What have you learned since you have had your pet?
I learned that every cat needs a breath of fresh air. For indoor cats, it would be good to walk with them with a leash. –
Do you have any advice for other pet owners?
If a cat sheds a lot, it should be brushed regularly.
Cats can be taught not to scratch furniture. Bones used to scratch the sofa, but we had a squirt bottle with water. Because she does not like water, she stopped. She has not scratched since.
