Arthur and Janet`s dog Molly is a female, 8 year-old Beagle. Originally, Molly was their son`s dog, he brought her from Calgary.
Molly has traveled twice back and forth from Calgary. “She has got a few air miles on her”, Arthur says.
But for the past 4 years, Arthur and Janet had had Molly.
“The Six Golden Questions”:
– What does your pet like?
To cuddle in bed and play tug of war with a rope.
– What does your pet not like?
She does not like other dogs intruding on her territory. And she does not like motorcycles and bikes. She runs after them.
She was hit by a motorcycle in the summer and got 40 stitches at the vet`s in Corner Brook.
– Favourite toy?
Anything that squeaks. She likes to get the squeaker out of the toy and the chews it up.
– Favourite food?
Kibbles and bits of dry food. But she likes her treats from the table, too, like human food.
– What have you learned since you have had your pet?
That Beagles can be very stubborn. But they are also very cuddly dogs.
– Do you have any advice for other pet owners?
If you are going to get a Beagle, you have to know that they are hunting dogs and they follow their nose, especially for rabbits. They are going to follow that scent until the get tired.
A lot of people use Beagles as hunting dogs and abuse them when they get older.
